August 11, 2009 BIRDWOOD / HILLCREST NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING
On August 11, 2009, the City of Charlottesville met with residents of the Birdwood Road/Hillcrest Road community to discuss access concerns and the concerns voiced during the September 30, 2008 community meeting about the proposed Route 250 Bypass Interchange at McIntire Road.
City staff presented two new Birdwood/Hillcrest access options from the proposed interchange alternative (Alternative G1) for community input. The two new access options were prepared to address the September 2008 community access concerns. The community responded with general approval for Option 2 which includes a right-turn only entrance access at Birdwood Road from eastbound Route 250 and a right-turn entrance/right-turn exit access at Hillcrest Road from eastbound Route 250 exit ramp to McIntire Road.
