2030 No-Build Alternative Facts:

  1. Design Year: 2030
  2. Traffic volumes based on UnJAM2025 regional model, projected to 2030
  3. Traffic growth rate: 1% per year (i.e., relatively slow growth)
  4. Current daily traffic volume on Route 250 Bypass: 39,100 vehicles
  5. Projected daily traffic volume on Route 250 in 2030: 48,750 vehicles
  6. Peak hour volumes entering the Route 250/McIntire Road/Extended intersection:
    1. Year 2030: AM = 7,225 vehicles; PM = 6,725 vehicles
  7. The existing at-grade intersection currently operates at level of service (LOS) D.
  8. In 2030, the at-grade intersection with McIntire Road Ext. would operate at LOS F.
    1. Some drivers will have to wait through more than ten (10) cycles of the traffic signal before proceeding through the intersection in 2030 during the peak periods.
    2. Queues approaching the intersection will extend for several miles in each direction along Route 250, McIntire Road, and McIntire Road Extended in 2030 during the peak periods.
